THE SHARD
We jumped at the chance to create a model for the "View from the Shard". One of London's newest and most exciting developments wanted a high end piece of merchandise to offer to their distinguished visitors. The key to this model was to reproduce the distinctive outline of the building which makes it so instantly recognisable. We settled on nickel silver to represent the shards of glass. First we created a plaster plinth and model core. Then we etched the nickel silver sheets and finally we wrapped the nickel silver round the plaster core.
